How to delete your Argument account and data
You can delete your Argument account and the personal data associated with it at any time, using either of the options below.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (instant)
- Open the Argument app and sign in.
- Go to Settings › Delete account.
- Confirm by typing DELETE. Your account and data are removed immediately.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the app, email us from the address linked to your account and we will delete it for you:
We respond within 14 days.
What gets deleted
Deletion permanently removes your profile (name, email, avatar), your institution and group memberships, the messages, voice notes, photos, videos and files you sent, your poll votes and election votes, and your push-notification token.
What may be retained
Announcements, schedules or exams you created for your institution stay available to that institution but are no longer linked to you. We may keep a minimal record where required by law or to prevent abuse (for example, that an account was removed). This data is not used to identify you and is deleted when no longer needed.
