Terms of Use
Last updated: 17 August 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Argument mobile application and website (“Argument”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Argument lets members of a school, business or other organization communicate through institution and group chats, announcements, polls, schedules, exams and representative elections. The service is currently provided free of charge.
2. Accounts and roles
- You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You may only join institutions and groups you actually belong to and may only declare a role (student, teacher, employee, admin) that is truthful. Staff roles are subject to approval by existing staff of the institution.
- Institution staff and admins may manage groups, announcements, schedules and membership requests for their institution.
3. Community rules
Argument is a respectful communication space for learning and work. You agree not to post or share content that is unlawful, harassing, bullying, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, fraudulent, spam, or that infringes the rights of others; not to impersonate anyone; and not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, institutions or systems.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You can report any message and block any user from within the app. We review reports within 24 hours and may remove content, restrict or terminate accounts without notice when these Terms are violated.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant us a limited licence to store, transmit and display your content solely to operate the service for you and the members of your institution. You are responsible for the content you share and must have the right to share it.
5. Termination
You may stop using Argument and delete your account at any time from Settings › Delete account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that create legal or security risk.
6. Disclaimers and liability
Argument is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for the content posted by users or for decisions taken by institutions using the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
7. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use of Argument after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. For significant changes we will notify you inside the app.
